A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.

Fence needed? While consideration will be given, we vastly prefer Majessa to have her own fenced in yard to romp and play in.
What kind of home would be best for me? Majessa will need a patient and loving adopter who can help her adjust to her new life. Ideally, her new family should be home most of the day to provide the socialization and consistent potty training she needs. Majessa would thrive in either a house or apartment, and she is well-suited for a single person, a couple, or a family, as long as they are committed to spending quality time with her. If there are children in the home, they should be older (around 12 and up) due to Majessa's sensitivity to sudden movements.
Majessa will not be placed as an only dog. She must have a canine companion in her new home. Not only would your dog be a playmate, but it would also act as a mentor to her as she will model her behavior after it.
A fenced-in yard would be ideal for her to play and burn off some energy with her toys and doggy friend. A trip to the dog park would be a great substitute if you don't have fenced in yard.
What is my personality like? This beautiful girl is full of energy and loves romping around the yard with her canine friends and playing with her toys. When it comes to people Majessa is a bit more reserved. She seems to enjoy the company of women more so than men. Majessa warms up to both, but far more quickly to women. She loves being loved on and held in your arms. Majessa is a happy, playful girl who enjoys her toys and the company of other dogs. She isn't particularly interested in cats. If your cat will accept Majessa there won't be a problem.
Majessa came to us after her breeder decided to retire. She has never had puppies and was living life as a happy go lucky, spoiled country girl with many canine playmates and a doting owner and lots of yard to play in. Everything in suburbia is new to her, so patience and time will be crucial for helping her transition from country girl to city girl. She has a wonderful personality within, and it will be worth the time.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Majessa takes a few moments to warm up to new people. She tends to bond more quickly with women but enjoys being loved and held by everyone once she gets to know them.
Other tips and tidbits: We estimate Majessa's birth date to be on or around 12/30/2021.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
