My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Late winter we offered our services for spay/neuter of owned cats. This persian was one of two cats we fixed under that program. We also microchipped the cats and gave the information to the owner.

Fast forward to last month, this cat ended up in the hands of another rescue, who found the chip and contacted us. The owner had never registered so we show up as the secondary contact on our chips. The cat was pulled from a trailer park, matted and infested with fleas. In a different city from what we had on file for her owner.

We contacted the owner and this is how that went:

Hello I am trying to reach (owner’s name).

-Who is this?

Sent photo of cat.
We have your cat here at our rescue. It was found flea ridden and matted, on the street.

-We don’t have a cat.
-We had rehomed her a few months ago that’s not our cat.

So this is (owner’s name) and this was your cat but you rehomed her?

-She isn’t our cat anymore she had been rehomed to someone in cedar springs.

Do you have the name and number or address of the person you rehomed the cat to?

-I can look.

More texts after this but suffice it to say, this person never asked how the cat was doing. Or expressed any horror or even concern about what had happened to her since they rehomed her. The other cat we fixed for them is said to be rehomed with a family member. And yes, we did message the number provided for the ‘new’ owner…………..???

Purrsia has been shaved down, treated for fleas, and started on vaccines. She is 4 years old and did live with another cat.
She is very sweet and is looking for her forever home!

All of our cats/kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites.
