Meet Katie! Katie enjoys spending time being a couch potato Shes good with people and other dogs , never had to be crated, house-trained, and perfect on a leash!
Heres a little of Katies backstory:
Katie was the loyal companion of Kenny, a Vietnam War Veteran who lived alone and suffered from PTSD. In 2021, we received several calls from Kenny expressing his desperate need for a companion, a dog. You could hear the urgency in his voice.
In February 2021, Kenny met Katie, and from that day on, they were inseparable. Katie slept with him, ate with him, walked with him on his farm, and road in the car with him. Kenny frequently sent us messages and letters thanking us for Katie and sharing how she had changed his life.
Unfortunately, Kenny has moved to hospice care. Katie and another dog were alone in the house, being cared for by friend.
Katie is now with a foster and has been able to visit her dad in hospice. She is adapting well in her new surroundings as she waits patiently for someone to love her like Kenny did.
Katie is 5 years old and a little overweight . Our team rescued Katie in Southern Ohio where she was running as a stray in early 2021. Katie is good with other dogs, house trained, has perfect house behavior (never crated) and the perfect companion for anyone needing a friend.
