Nero came into a local shelter here in CT. He was a stray who nobody ever came looking for sadly. He has been sitting in the shelter for over a year now, with no interest. He sits in his kennel and cries. He is wondering if he will ever get out of there. We promised him, we would do whatever it takes to find him his forever family. Nero is a young, athletic, and brave male dog who loves to play, make new friends, and protect those he loves with kisses. Lololol. He's an affectionate and loyal companion who is always curious and eager to explore the world around him. He's a very smart dog, who is friendly and funny, and is always up for a game of fetch or a long hike. He's a great very energetic boy with a gentle soul who will cuddle you when you're feeling down. Nero is a perfect friend for someone who is very active and wants to train him. Nero will play with his dog friends. He enjoys wrestling and a game of chase. This boy loves his squeaky toys, but they won't last but 2 minutes. He does enjoy bones too.
If you're interested in adopting Nero, apply for him today!!! He can't wait to meet you and become your loyal bestie.

More about this rescue
Fetching Hearts Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer run rescue that is dedicated to saving dogs who have been abused, neglected or abandoned and finding loving, caring homes for them.
We rely on a network of foster families so that each dog that we pull into the safety of our rescue is placed in a foster home and is no longer confined to a life in a kennel.
We are committed to helping dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes by partnering with shelters and animal control services right here in Connecticut as well as with several high kill shelters in the South.
We do a full assessment of each dog's temperament and health to ensure that we are able to find the most suitable home for them. Every dog is fully vetted - meaning they are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and micro chipped - before being adopted.
The ASPCA estimates that approximately 3.3 million dogs in the United States enter shelters each year, of which approximately 670,000 are euthanized*. Our goal is to advocate for and provide education about the need for spaying and neutering to eliminate what has become an epidemic of unwanted dogs.*
