My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

09/14/24 This handsome, outgoing turtle is Potato! Potato was brought to the shelter because his previous owner had to move back to the lower 48 and ran into restrictions on traveling with turtles in every method of travel they tried. Potato is a very loved turtle, and his previous owner wanted to set him up for a wonderful life in his next home. So Potato has a full setup to take home when he gets adopted! If you are not familiar with yellow-bellied sliders, or turtles in general, we highly recommend doing some research prior to adopting. Potato is very outgoing and loves to get head scratches and slow nose boops. He was said to get along with dogs and cats and is not usually bothered by kids or babies. Potato loves to eat blueberries, lettuce and mealworms in addition to his regular complete diet food. He loves time to explore outside of his tank too! Potato spent the first 9 years of his life being referred to as a male. About a year ago, his previous owner was erroneously corrected on his gender, so they had changed to refferring to him as a female. Once Potato arrived at the shelter, it was determined by the placement of his cloaca that he is, in fact, a male! But he will respond to all pronouns, especially if you have snacks! If you are interested in meeting Potato and have done your research, please give the shelter a call!September 16, 2024, 10:47 pm
