Meet Misty, a 5-month-old queen of confidence and cuddles. Just a gentle pat-pat on the sofa, with a treat in hand of course, and she'll eagerly join you for some quality companionship. She enjoys your company and tries her best to keep you in her sight, whether you are working or sleeping.

Confidence is Misty's middle name. She never hesitates to vocalize her needs for food, rubbing, or a "good job "after she uses the litterbox. She expects you to squint back if she blinks at you slowly. She is comfortable with handshakes, tummy rubs, and body strokes.
She meows a bit when she cannot find you, but her curiosity and love for food or toys often lead her to wander off after a few minutes. Misty's blend of independence and affection makes her a delightful and engaging presence in any home.

Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
