Meet ARCHIE, a 1.5yo, 53lb AMAZING DOODLE! Archie is a cuddle bug, affectionate with people and respectful kids, and playful with dogs of all sizes. He walks nicely on leash, is potty and crate trained, and rides well in the car. Archie is playful but will settle when you need him to. He is smart and knows the commands sit and lay down and is eager to learn new things. Archie would do best in a home with a playful second dog or with an adopter that will take him to day camp so he can engage and play with other dogs.
Archie came to us with a deeply matted coat so we gave him a spa day that included a shave down...shown in the before and after photos. His coat will grow back and since he is part poodle, he will need regular coat brushing and grooming every 4-6 weeks. (We mention this because this can be a pretty big expense $100+ per grooming visit). We cannot express what a treasure this boy is...his future adopters will be overjoyed with him! If you are looking for a great family dog, companion, and friend, Archie may be just for you!

SPOT was created to fill the need to save animals who “fall through the cracks” in our sheltering system. Local shelters are overwhelmed—they receive so many strays and owner turn-ins that they run out of space and have to kill thousands of animals each year. The majority of these animals are healthy and simply need to be placed into a home. Others are medical cases which require some work, but do not have life-threatening diseases or injuries. And a few have some moderate behavior issues; we work with specialists to correct these behaviors before finding them their forever home. The bottom line is SPOT can save these lives.
