Benny is a perfect little gentleman who came to us from a rural shelter in Texas. He needed some physical TLC but his personality is absolutely perfect. He is hoping to find his loving forever home asap!
While Benny has some scars from past injuries, he doesn’t let that, or his age slow him down. He is an active boy who bonds easily with humans. He’ll boof or bark at things he thinks need your attention (like, a squirrel or someone walking down the street), but will easily come back if you call him. Walking is a must for him because he really enjoys exploring with his nose. However he is happy running around the yard with his foster friends and making sure all the leaves have his smell on them. But no worries, he doesn’t mark in the house!
Benny is also extremely cuddly and sweet and craves attention. He is happy to sit on your lap but prefers to lean or lie on your chest. Little kisses and nudging for more pets are abundant. If you need a break though, he is happy to snuggle next to you on a couch or a bed. He bonds easily with humans and aims to please them.
Benny also recently was neutered and had a dental. He will need soft food or soaked kibble for the rest of his life because so many teeth had to be removed recently. He is also microchipped and vaccinated.
Benny would do great in a variety of homes, as he is good with other dogs (big and small), and cats. Little kids may make him nervous, he will bark, which may be scary for the child. We don’t have any known history with children, so it would be a case by case basis with seeing how he would do and to make sure the kids give him his space when he needs it.
If you think this spunky and “turnkey rescue” boy would be a great addition to your home, please fill out an application today!

More about this rescue
We are a group of animal lovers banded together to rescue unwanted dogs and cats that are in shelters and pounds located throughout Idaho. Our non-profit rescue places each animal into our foster home program while we search for forever homes for them. We supply all vet care, food, toys, bedding; really anything they need while in our care.
We focus on those animals that are considered “hard to adopt” for various reasons; like kennel stress, having a black coat, being over 8 years old, etc. Often a foster home rather than a shelter environment helps give many of these animals a second chance at the life they deserve!
We relay on community donations and individuals willing to be foster care givers in order to continue our work.
