My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hi friends! I’m Remi Jo, a 6 month old heeler mix. At 20lbs now, I’ll probably get to be around 35lbs full grown. Which is the perfect size, if you like medium dogs. I’ve impressed my foster mom since the day I got here. I figured out the dog door within a day, slept quietly in my crate by myself after only two nights, and decided that getting out for some sunshine while I do my business is far nicer than going inside. In fact, I’ve only had one accident since I got here!

If my foster mom could describe me in one word it would be FUN! I’ve got a zest for life that could make anyone smile. I love the toddlers I live with. I learned really fast that if I’m gentle with them they’ll give me treats, and those are my favorite- so I take them very nicely. Sometimes I get too excited and jump on them, but with a little correction I’ll stop that in no time. Coming second to my love for kids is my love for dog friends. Size doesn’t really matter to me, as long as they like to play! My foster siblings are teaching me to play fetch right now. I haven’t quite caught on, but man it’s fun to hop alongside them and run through the yard. I’ve never met a cat, but if you’re willing to teach me how to behave around one, I’m happy to learn. And from what I’ve shown my foster mom, I learn quick.

I’ve got a good energy level. I’d love a family that likes to go for walks, hikes, camping, or anything outdoors. But I’m still a cuddle bug, so someone who wants to pet me while they binge watch trash tv is also a must.

6 months is the perfect age to teach me to be exactly what you’re looking for in a companion. Want to take me home?
