My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gus in located in Pennsylvania. Gus was originally at a puppy mill. With that background comes some baggage. Gus is missing part of one leg, but he doesn't let that slow him down! He would do best with an experienced owner with a lot of patience. He is a very good boy and none of his nervous traits are his fault. With love and patience and gentle training, he will make a great best friend. He needs a home with NO cats or other small animals. Gus loves all people, he does tend to forget how big he is and may knock over smaller children. Gus is OK with other dogs, but he tends to dominate and sometimes can play a bit rough. He would like to have a large fenced in area to play safely, but would likely do well on a zip line. He needs to be able to run and play! Now that he's escaped the puppy mill, it's his time to be just a dog and a friend. Gus is safe in a foster home, but is looking for just that right forever home. A few Steps from home animal Rescue requires a adoption contract to be filled out prior to adopting an animal. By filling this out, it does not mean you will be eligible for one of our pets. We do extensive veterinary and reference checks on all potential applicants. We do ask for a donation fee for the adoption of our animals to cover the vet care we have provided to the animals. After approval a contract is required to be signed.

We are A Few Steps From Home Animal Rescue. This group helps homeless and abused animals in distress find permanent homes. We provide all of our fosters with initial vet care. We are a small group so there are only a few of us that can foster these animals in our homes. We at this time foster both dogs and cats and we work with all fosters on an individual basis.
