Pumpkin came to CVHS when she lost her way as a stray. Since being here, we've found that she LOVES human attention, plush toys, and being outside in one of our enclosed yards, or going for a nice long, enriching trail walk.
Pumpkin rides well in a car, happily watching out the windows to make sure you are staying on route. She seems to be house trained when it comes to her bathroom habits, and will wait to go outside to relieve herself, rather than using a kennel run.
Pumpkin's reaction toward other dogs tells us that she would prefer not to live with a canine companion. On walks she can see dogs from a distance without reacting, but if they are too close for her comfort, she likes yelling at them. We are unsure of her experience with felines, so a slow introduction will be key. Without knowing her prior history with children, it will be important to have her future human-sibling(s) to meet her first. She's very happy to meet new adults, and is eager to make friends with everybody.
A one-on-one consultation with our Behavior Specialist is included in Pumpkin's $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about her, and to determine if you should meet Pumpkin.
