My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zoey IV is an energetic, fun-loving bundle of joy. She is a 3-year-old 80 lb. Black Lab/Great Dane mix, but she still has big puppy energy. I rescued her from Richardson Animal Shelter about 2 years ago. Her loving and loyal energy is what drew me to her. She is up to date on all vaccinations, is currently on flea and heartworm medication, and is spayed. Zoey is an active dog and loves to run around outside and go on long walks. Dog parks can make her overwhelmed and a little anxious, so she will do best with an owner who has a backyard where she can let out all her zoomies. When not outside, she loves to be inside cuddling up on the couch or playing with her favorite toys (she loves anything stuffed and squeaky). Zoey loves to be the center of attention and prefers to be the only child where she can get all the butt rubs. She does pretty well with our 1-year-old daughter, but since she is high-energy there are the occasional accidents where she may run into her, so an owner that has no kids/older kids may work best. Zoey does pretty well on leash with minimal pulling and we have been working on the “heel” command. She is reactive to other dogs on leash and may pull/bark when they get close, which is also a work in progress. She is crate-trained and housebroken and she knows multiple commands such as sit, shake (with both paws), wait/stay, lay down, and up. Even though Zoey adds so much joy and excitement to my life, it is hard for me to take care of a 1-year-old while giving her the attention she needs as well. Since Zoey wants all the love, it is not fair of me to deprive her of that, and I would love to find her a home where she can get that. I am positive that Zoey’s bubble and vibrant personality will bring her new owner so much joy; they will never be bored. I can’t wait to find her a place where she can thrive and someone who will love her as much as I do.
