My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Melissa is in the process of getting adopted**

** Melissa can't go home until September 22nd once she's had her spay surgery; but, she's worth the wait! **

Meet Melissa, a sweet and playful kitten ready to find her forever home! Like all kittens, she needs plenty of mental, physical, and social enrichment to grow into a happy, healthy cat. You can keep Melissa entertained with interactive toys, puzzle feeders, and plenty of climbing opportunities. Daily playtime and bonding sessions are a must, as well as introducing her to new people to help her socialize. If you're ready to give Melissa the love and attention she needs, she'll reward you with endless purrs and playful antics!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
