My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pimento! This 1-year-old Papillon - Terrier blend weighs 12 lbs. Pimento is looking to spice up a lucky forever family’s life with his affectionate, goofy, playful spirit.

  • General Behavior: Pimento is a wonderful, playful, happy dog. Pimento lives to play and has sweet puppy energy. He is shy at first but quickly becomes cuddly and loving.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Clever, curious Pimento loves toys and can’t live without them! He also loves going for adventures in the car.

  • Training: Pimento is very smart and a quick learner. He is housetrained if let out frequently, and he will let you know if he needs to go out. He needs a bit more practice walking on a leash, but otherwise he has good basic manners. He sleeps in his dog bed at night.

  • Medical: Pimento is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.

  • Other Animals: Playful Pimento is good with other small dogs. He does well with other energetic dogs, but he gets along with calmer dogs, too. He hasn’t been observed around cats, but his foster thinks he’d be OK with them.

  • Children: Pimento is good with children of all ages.

  • Home: This easy going guy would do well in an apartment, condo, or single family home.

  • Grooming: Pimento will need to be brushed regularly, but he should not need too much elaborate grooming.

  • Overall: Pimento will be a great addition to any active family who can train him, raise him, and love him forever!

Is Pimento the secret ingredient your life has been missing? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered, and he has just had his teeth cleaned. His adoption donation is $550.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
