My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & ENERGETIC YOUNG PUP:  Approx. 6 - 7 months old / Approx. 28 lbs. & growing

Hi, my name’s Amiri!  I became a member of the Mostly Mutts family when they rescued me from animal control.  I sure am happy to be getting lots of love and attention from the volunteers here.  We spend lots of time together, and I can’t wait to do the same with my new family!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a dog at home, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over as I’m an active puppy.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:   I am as sweet and friendly as I am playful.  Still a puppy, I can be a bit mouthy when I play, as I am just so happy to see you and to have fun together. The volunteers report that I’m smart, fun and energetic – all great qualities I must say.  I’m ready to be a wonderful companion. / My energy level is 6-8, so I am looking for a family to be active with me.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  I have already mastered the ‘sit’ command, so check back soon to see what else I have learned. I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy. / I’ve been behaved in my little room at the shelter. / I've been having accidents on the shelter schedule and think that I need to go outside a bit more frequently.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy spending time with the volunteers, and I especially like it when they walk me to the tree stumps on the property where I can do my ‘king of the world’ impression by sitting on it to survey everything.  An affectionate gal, I love to give hugs and happily accept love in return.  Toys are great fun too, so let’s have some great play sessions together. / I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for an active family to share the good life with me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
