My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bair tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.

A volunteer writes: Comfort, confidence, and a feeling of safety don't always come so easily or when we want them to. Of course we want to start on the right foot (or paw, as the case may be), but there are times when we may need a little break, time to think things through. A long day, a rainy day, an exhausting day are all, in my opinion, acceptable reasons to flee under the covers. With his bright yellow bed that seems to have been made just for this very purpose, Bair would likely be inclined to agree. Peek inside his beloved fuzzy duckling-like bed and you'll find someone even cuter, our Mr. Bair. Brought to us due to his person's housing issues, Bair's been searching for a place for himself and he's found one! Except, his bed that brings him comfort and confidence also keeps him a bit hidden from visitors. I took an extra step to meet with him, as I'm asking you to do as well, because inside the bed is a lovely, fluffy, and very sweet little guy who is only trying his best.
