My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kia is a cheerful 2 year old pup who loves to play, explore, and have adventures. She weighs 46 pounds and makes friends with everyone she comes across, animals and humans alike. Her favorite way to spend the day is to snuggle in bed with her human, play fetch, and go on long walks. If her human leaves her for the shortest time, they can be sure to be greeted with the most joyous tail wag upon their return! She is a polite girl who does not jump on humans. She respects kitchen and food boundaries and stays off couches (though she does prefer to sleep in bed with her human). She does not like to spend time in her crate, though she can be enticed with peanut butter and other treats. While she is a good girl and loves to play, if she's not actively being engaged, she will find her own fun. Anything that is not safe for chewing should be kept out of her reach. She's an aggressive chewer, so chew toy play time should be supervised. Kia is still learning basic commands, such as sit, stay, and lay down. She is being loose leash trained with the command 'follow, and is getting better. Kia would be happiest in a home with an active family willing to take her on adventures and provide her with companionship during the day. When she's done adventuring, she will be sure to reward her new family with lots of snuggles.November 6, 2024, 10:29 am

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
