My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lady: A Sweet Chocolate Miniature Schnauzer Looking for A Home Without and Men.

Age: 1 year
Breed: Chocolate Miniature Schnauzer
Adoption Fee: $300 plus tax- Please read my full bio. FEMALE OWNERS ONLY.

Lady is a charming 1-year-old Chocolate Miniature Schnauzer who joined her current family when she was 7 months old from a puppymill. Potty trained with a few accidents and kennel trained, she's a delightful companion who's eager to find a home where she can truly thrive. While Lady is a pro at using her kennel, we had to remove her comfy bed because she had a habit of ripping it to pieces. We make sure she has toys in her kennel during the day, but at night, we keep it empty to ensure her safety.

Lady is cautious around new people, initially warming up more quickly to women than men. She gets along well with other dogs, though she might give a warning growl if they get too close too soon. Once she feels comfortable, she's eager to play and has a great time socializing with her canine friends.

Though Lady is generally good with kids, she can sometimes be a bit rough, using her teeth playfully due to her remaining puppy tendencies. However, when she bonds with someone, she showers them with all her love and attention, proving herself to be an affectionate and playful companion.

Unfortunately, Lady has a significant fear of men, which seems to stem from her limited socialization before 7 months old. Despite her current family's best efforts, including training classes and one-on-one sessions with a trainer, she remains very anxious around men and finds comfort in her kennel when they are near. Because of this, Lady would do best in a home without men.

If you're a woman or a family without men and are ready to provide a safe and loving environment for Lady, she would be a wonderful addition to your home.

More about this rescue

Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
