Kalana here. I’m a four year old snow white husky with a brilliant set of blue moon beams for eyes. My name is Hawaiian for “the royal one” Quite fitting, since I do have the looks of an elegant princess. Although life hasn’t always been easy for me. I was once a backyard ornament and didn’t receive much attention. Unfortunately, I ended up at a shelter and it seemed like my life was going in the wrong direction. And just like a fairly tale, Moonsong got wind of me and delivered me to freedom! You could say they were my knight in shinning armor. I can be a wee bit shy when meeting new people. Just give me a little time and I’ll come to you and show you just how sweet and lovable a girl I can be. Living in my foster home has been just the ticket for me. I’ve been blossoming like a wildflower!
Now I get to do all these good things a dog deserves. I love going out for my walks and have become competent on the leash. When it comes to car rides, I stay cool, calm and collected. I’m a real lady and wait patiently for my food and even take treats with a soft mouth. They say I’m a clever girl because I’ve picked up quite a few commands. I’m currently living with a few other northern breeds. For the most part, I have been observing from the sidelines while being interested and inquisitive. There’s no doubt I will catch onto the play thing, because it sure looks like a lot of fun. Please, no small dogs for me. They make me anxious, so it’s best if I coexist exclusively with large pups.
If you’re the active and outdoorsy sort, then I’m your girl. Not to say I wouldn’t love to snuggle up with you on some down time. To sum things up folks, I’m a diamond in the rough and becoming more radiant with every passing day. Don’t delay, check me out today. I’ll be waiting patiently for woo:-)

More about this rescue
We're glad you stopped by to check out our Mallies in need of their "furever" homes! We are federally recognized non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to assisting Alaskan Malamutes and their owners when in crisis throughout the Intermountain West. Please be aware that Moonsong Malamute Rescue (MMR) is not a shelter or humane society. We are affiliated with the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL), which is the national rescue organization recognized by the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. As an affiliate to AMAL, MMR operates under AMAL's code of ethics.
We offer educational material about the Alaskan Malamute breed, can assist in resolving containment issues, are able to help an owner with appropriately re-homing their Malamute when necessary, and provide behavioral issues support in the form of referrals to trainers and other more experienced Malamute owners. These funds are also used to help care for Malamutes with adoptable personalities who have been pulled from shelters, or who have been seized by authorities after having been abandoned, neglected, or abused.
