Hello, I am Stanley! I’m a friendly and curious boy that enjoys walks, hikes, doing tricks for treats, and playing ball. I also love to relax with my people, and like a cuddle before bed. I sleep well at night and am well behaved at home. I know how to do many important mannerly things like sit, stay, and come. I enjoy being my family’s best friend, and get very excited to greet my humans when they come home.
Like most dogs, I love a good chew toy, and need large, safe toys and bones to keep me busy when we aren’t playing or sleeping. I am good on a leash and love to explore new things, so you can take me places with you. I’m not a perfect boy, though I try very hard, and could use some help with resource guarding. I also am not good with small animals, including small dogs, so I would do best in a home without those. I am very good, however, with older kids who are respectful and understand boundaries.
Please be aware that I was also born cross eyed, which gives me an interesting look, but it doesn’t affect me much other than a little stumble every now and then. I have so much love to give the right family, I just need a little patience, some help learning a few more confidence skills, and I can be all you ever wanted in a best friend! Take a chance?

More about this rescue
We're glad you stopped by to check out our Mallies in need of their "furever" homes! We are federally recognized non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to assisting Alaskan Malamutes and their owners when in crisis throughout the Intermountain West. Please be aware that Moonsong Malamute Rescue (MMR) is not a shelter or humane society. We are affiliated with the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL), which is the national rescue organization recognized by the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. As an affiliate to AMAL, MMR operates under AMAL's code of ethics.
We offer educational material about the Alaskan Malamute breed, can assist in resolving containment issues, are able to help an owner with appropriately re-homing their Malamute when necessary, and provide behavioral issues support in the form of referrals to trainers and other more experienced Malamute owners. These funds are also used to help care for Malamutes with adoptable personalities who have been pulled from shelters, or who have been seized by authorities after having been abandoned, neglected, or abused.
