My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey all, my name is Finn! I am a large husky boy! I am almost 4 years young! My owner moved and I don’t get along with one of the other dogs; but don’t let that fool you-I can get along with other dogs. I lived with 2 females for years.

I am a talker and will hold a conversation with you everyday. I might even talk back a little if you tell me no. I love attention and will give it right back. I really like giving hoomans kisses-it’s so much fun! I am full of energy and love to take walks. I don’t do so bad on a leash if I do say so myself. I also know the commands sit, stay, and down. They think I can learn many more as well as I am a smart boy.

Most days I enjoy lots of time outside, but being inside and getting attention is also great! If I am inside, rest assured I will follow you and want to know what you are doing-you would be my people after all and I gotta make sure you are safe!

Exploring is also something I am good at! I am crate trained and ride well in cars too! As for little hoomans, they don’t bother me at all! I am looking for a family that will give me the love I will also give them. Will you be my “fur”ever home?

More about this rescue

We're glad you stopped by to check out our Mallies in need of their "furever" homes! We are federally recognized non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to assisting Alaskan Malamutes and their owners when in crisis throughout the Intermountain West. Please be aware that Moonsong Malamute Rescue (MMR) is not a shelter or humane society. We are affiliated with the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL), which is the national rescue organization recognized by the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. As an affiliate to AMAL, MMR operates under AMAL's code of ethics.

We offer educational material about the Alaskan Malamute breed, can assist in resolving containment issues, are able to help an owner with appropriately re-homing their Malamute when necessary, and provide behavioral issues support in the form of referrals to trainers and other more experienced Malamute owners. These funds are also used to help care for Malamutes with adoptable personalities who have been pulled from shelters, or who have been seized by authorities after having been abandoned, neglected, or abused.
