Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Friendly Cashew, the sweetest girl I think I've EVER met, she is down to earth, beyond gorgeous, and far too good. Every time I interact with her I can't help but crack up, I'm not sure if it's because she looks too cute to be real, or if it's her natural hilarious personality! Cashew knows her basics, is seemingly house-broken, and crate-trained, and what's even better? As velcro-doggy as velcro-doggy gets, in fact, Cashew's more of a 'zipper' dog, we'd say. If we had zippers for her to hop right inside our skin with us, she would, she can't ever get close enough but is never pushy about it, which we love! She has done amazingly with all dogs, cats, AND kids, making her that PERFECT lovable pooch, ready to join you in the world, doing whatever it is you may! Or even nothing at all, watching TV while she gnaws a bone, and she will be one content girl! At about 1.5 years old, and 30 pounds, this girl will grow a bit more, but will stay that PERFECT size for companionship!
My adoption fee is only $210! This fee covers all of my vaccines, microchip, nex/heartguard, heartworm test, AND my spay/neuter!
Think I might be the perfect fit for your home? You can apply for me here https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person when you come visit me any day during business hours! You can even adopt me that same day once approved!!
Please Note: All adoptions are on a first-come first served basis with approved adoption applicants. We do not hold animals unless the adoption is out-of-state, and fees apply. The animal's welfare is our first and only priority, in doing so, they are moved from the shelter into their respective homes as quickly, & humanely as possible to remove the risk of undergoing extreme stress, immune system compromisation, & behavioral concerns.
DISCLAIMER: Genetic Breed accuracy is NOT guaranteed; we assess by the following:
Interview with or paperwork from with the previous owner
Intake evaluation observations (behavior, physical appearance, and energy level)
Source documents from which to analyze characteristics
Consultation with other staff

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
