My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Popeye is an estimated 2-year-old 62 lb male lab shepherd mix who was a stray intake to the overcrowded San Bernardino city shelter. He temp tested fantastically with dogs and people and was a tester dog for playgroups. We will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.

Foster Update:

Popeye’s foster mom describes him as an absolute sweetheart who loves to cuddle, play and adventure! He will be happy doing just about anything with his people. Popeye likes to chase, tug and play with toys. He’s doing well setting into a crate after being a tiny bit vocal. Popeye walks well on leash - passing other dogs easily. He’s calm and respectful, but does jump up every now and then to say hello. He loves car rides but needs little reminders to stay in the back seat when adventuring! Overall, Popeye is a real gem and will be a great solo pup or addition to a household with other dogs.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health  certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.
