My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

URGENT: Can you help me? I need a FOSTER home or an ADOPTIVE home by 9/28/2024. I am currently in Texas awaiting my second chance. Not all pups are lucky to get out but, with your help, I may just have that chance! If you can help, please apply on www.HBWI.org.

Meet Ranger, a regal Great Pyrenees/Retriever mix with a heartwarming story. Abandoned on the edge of a small rural Texas town, Ranger was rescued by compassionate folks who recognized his incredible potential.

Ranger is a gentle and submissive soul who adores people and gets along splendidly with both dogs and kids. His sweet nature and loving demeanor make him an ideal match for both first-time owners and families alike! Though he is on the larger side at 75lbs, we promise this fella is nothing but a gentle giant!

After being given a second chance with good food, treats, and plenty of affection, Ranger is now thriving and ready to share his boundless love with a loving, stable forever home. Could Ranger be the loyal friend you’ve been searching for?

FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping.

For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics.

To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Go meet their pets

As a foster-based rescue organization, we do not have a central boarding facility for our animals. If you are interested in meeting one of our available animals, we highly encourage you to submit an adoption application. Once approved, you will be able to meet our animals.
