Leo is in search of the perfect, forever home that will give him a safe place to land after his rough start to life. For the past year, Leo was been kept in a basement of an apartment building to catch mice. Although residents of the building went out of their way to give him love and attention, he was often neglected by his owner, the building's management. In late August 2024, Leo developed a urinary obstruction and he was hospitalized for four days. Leo is much better now and is being fostered by a resident of that building while he searches for his forever home.
Leo is a sweet boy who loves nothing more than just being in the same room as you. He takes awhile to come out of his shell, but one he does, he would love to spend afternoons with you on the couch and evenings in bed. He has quite a healthy appetite and loves his prescription wet food, which he will have to be on for the rest of his life to prevent another obstruction from occurring.
Leo is good with dogs and has even played with his foster brother and sister (both dogs) a few times! It is unknown how he behaves around other cats. Leo will be neutered and given all of his basic shots at the end of the month. He is roughly four years old.
Leo would benefit from a calm home to let him decompress after this rough year. He sheds very little and is very treat motivated! He would love nothing more than to be a part of your family

PupStarz Rescue is an animal welfare group committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats in public shelters at high risk of euthanasia, as well as those in danger of abuse. We are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible, saving over 2,600 dogs and cats since 2015.
PupStarz Rescue is a foster-based rescue, relying on fosters to open their homes and lives to our Animals. Animals in our care receive proper medical care, including alteration, vaccinations, and microchipping.
Following a thorough screening, our animals are placed in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. PupStarz Rescue ensures that adoptions are an appropriate match for both the animal and their new family by educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a furry companion into their lives.
We are committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We maintain open communication with our adopters to ensure a smooth transition, and offer additional support such as positive training techniques.
Founded in 2015, PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization.
