My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Kansas City, MO

~~~FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED~~~
Hey everyone, I'm Leonard, at 18 months old, they say I'm still a baby. Nah, I'm a big boy now.
My most favorite thing ever is having is having my ear flaps rubbed.
My Resume to be your bestest friend:
-Love other dogs and play well with all of them-Did you say Dog Park?
-Great car rider, you can take me everywhere
-Awesome snuggler and give lots of kisses
-crated trained but I'd rather cuddle on the couch with you
I do need to work on my good boy manors when walking on leash, but I'm young and smart.
Felines are unknown to me, as I have never met any.
My only fault- I am not crazy about kids. Hey, nobody's perfect.
I'd love a big backyard to run and play in. Do you have another canine to keep me company?
Licks n Sniffs,
Leonard
Additional adoption info
The first step in our adoption process is for the prospective adopter to complete our Adoption Application Questionnaire which helps us best match you with the the dog that would be most suited to your home environment and expectations.
Our adoption application can be downloaded from our website www.savethedals.org
If you are having difficulty accessing the adoption application, email us at info@savethedals.org
If based on the Application Questionnaire we think one of our dogs is a good match to your home environment and expectations, we will follow up with a phone call, advise you of the adoption fee, schedule a home visit if applicable, and arrange a meet and greet with the dog. Adopters are also required to sign our Adoption Contract, you will be provided a copy of the contract for you to review and ask questions before you adopt the dog.
Note that we often have multiple applicants wanting to adopt the same dog. Our selection process is not based on whose application we receive first. It is based on who we believe will be the best match for the dog, allowing for the greatest success of a high quality, loving forever home, with the least likelihood of the dog needing to be returned to rescue.
We commit to the life of each dog we rescue, such that at any point in the life of the dog if its adopter is no longer able to keep the dog, the adopter signs our adoption contract agreeing that they will return the dog to Save The Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue. The dog is not to be turned into an animal shelter.
More about this rescue
Who we are: Save the Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to the rescue of Dalmatians from shelters, the promotion of adoptions of shelter Dalmatians and education of the public about the Dalmatian breed. We began in 1996 when founder Terri Haase and a friend started taking their Dalmatians to movie theaters during the showing of "101 Dalmatians" to distribute educational flyers in an attempt to stop impulse buying of Dalmatian puppies. Save the Dalmatians was formally incorporated as a California non-profit corporation in 1998. Our brochure provides more detail.
Further documentation on our 501(c)3 status may be requested by writing to Save the Dalmatians, 15507 S. Normandie Avenue #432, Gardena, CA 90247.
What we do: Save the Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue specializes in rescuing Dalmatians, Dalmatian mixes and other breeds from shelters and finding new permanent homes for them.
We also provide placement support to others fostering rescued Dalmatians and to Dalmatian owners who wish to rehome their own Dalmatians.
Another very important function of our organization is public education about the Dalmatian breed. We disseminate information via mail, email, telephone and at adoption events. We also work with newspapers, radio and television to have information about Dalmatians published or broadcast.
Save the Dalmatians and Others Canine Rescue is an affiliate of the Dalmatian Assistance League. We are all unpaid volunteers.
