My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adorable Raven was born to a stray momma dog who was seen living in a ditch near a very busy road. Mom & babies were taken to the local animal shelter which was not an ideal situation for 5 week old puppies. Raven was injured while at the shelter. Our vet recommended she be separated from her siblings to give her body time to heal. She got the all clear at her last vet visit and is ready for her forever family!! We believe Raven would do best in a home with another dog. A dog that is patient and will continue to teach her manners. Because of her separation, she missed a few weeks of "puppy pack play" where they learn boundaries. However, Raven hasn't been totally isolated. She goes to work with her foster mom and gets lots of cuddles and human attention!! She's been introduced to cats in her foster home and quickly learned she should not bite their tails. She's much more cautious when approaching the cats now. She enjoys running & playing with the dogs in her foster home and is showing submissive behavior when they correct her. She is a smart girl who can also entertain herself. She LOVES her toys especially her stuffed Octopus which she uses as a pillow at bed time. Raven is full of personality and will make a great addition to your home. She has had age appropriate shots. (Remining vaccines and spay at 6 months are included in her adoption fee.) Adoption is a four part process.

Application: You will be required to submit general information along with personal and vet references.

Home visit: Potential adopters will receive a home visit by one of our members.

Meet -n- Greet: All family members (fur babies included) must meet the foster parent and pup they wish to adopt.

Here at Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, each adoption contribution is a flat rate per dog. We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog. We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them. Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.

Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC is located in the quaint town of Gillsville, in the foothills of the Georgia Mountains, just south of Gainesville. Our rescues are fostered in loving homes located in Hall, Jackson, and neighboring counties.

We are a small canine rescue group located in Northeast Georgia that works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, fully vet, and re-home faithful dogs that have been tossed out of cars onto rural roads. We are a registered, 501c3 tax deductible Non Profit Rescue and we are licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture

All dogs in our program have been previously reported to animal control to ensure they were not lost pups who had a family diligently looking for them. We do not turn a dog away due to breed, health concerns, or age. It is our goal to keep these dogs out of animal shelters, thus saving their lives and providing more time to the dogs already in shelters to find their forever family.
