My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pellets: 1/8 cup Adult Oxbow Essentials (AM)
Hay: Unlimited mixed hay (All day)
Salad: 1x/day 1 cup spring mix, romaine lettuce, cilantro, parsley

Nicole was abandoned in a PetSmart parking lot in late June 2024, left in a crate with two other rabbits. She was taken to a shelter in Orange County before transferring to us at SDHRS. Nicole is an absolute joy to have in the shelter. We love to see her zoom around and play to her heart's content! Nicole is a bunny who would benefit from a home where she can free-roam and explore. She is not a big fan of being picked up, but will gladly accept the occasional pet, followed by a small treat. She loves to play with chew toys and we have noticed that she loves hay cubes. If you are looking for a beautiful bunny with a shining personality, Nicole is the perfect bunny for you!

Spayed: 6/27/2024

Minimum housing requirement: Double pen or free roam.

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. The virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit. Please make sure to vaccinate your rabbits every year. For more information, please visit our website at: https://sandiegorabbits.org/education/rhdv

More about this rescue

We are a volunteer-driven organization working in San Diego County for nearly 25 years. We want to ensure that rabbits are not adopted out unaltered, that they find good homes where they will be cherished as indoor family companions, and that we educate our community on the responsible care of indoor rabbit companions.
