Meet Lola, your future partner. She would be that perfect dog for someone looking for a low maintenance, cuddle dog. She is not a walker because she has arthritis but oh is she a cuddler for any human. She sleeps with her foster and watches tv with her foster. She just wants to be with a human. She is potty trained. The foster just asks that you take her out 3 times a day. She really just likes to go outside and do her business then go back inside with her humans. Her perfect day is laying on a comfy couch and having a human to lay by. She also likes some nice little nyla bones. She just wants her adopter to know walking is not her thing, so if you are looking for a dog to walk with...she is not the one. She would be the PERFECT work from home dog. She does not say a peep. You actually forget she is in the house! Please make sure if you have another dog to do a very slow meet and greet. The foster believes she would be better in a home without dogs just for her comfort. Please do a very slow and safe introduction if you have another dog.
During a recent playgroup session,Lola took the time to size up her playmates. Like an expert poker player, she didn't tip her hand to let them know whether she was enjoying them or not. After a while, she finally seemed ready to engage, and we did get several playbows out of her. She tolerated a high energy male dog, and did a lot of tail wagging all while maintaining her stoic poker face.
It's worth noting that Lola is heartworm positive, but thanks to the generous support from Friends of Wake County Animal Center, she has a $400 sponsorship towards the medical costs for heartworm treatment. It's important to remember that heartworm is not transferable to other dogs, and with treatment being possible, Lola is on her way to a healthier and happier life. Please note she has already gotten two heartworm injections. WooHoo!
She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: White Weight: 72.5 Age: 7yrs 8mths 3wks
