My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tread is a 3-year old male Terrier mix who was picked up by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff on September 6, 2024 after Tread had been hit by an automobile on Waterford Road.

The Deputy Sheriff who rescued Tread took him directly to one of our compassionate local veterinarians' office/hospital clinic where he underwent surgery for injuries to his lower back. HSOV staff was able to transport Tread to our shelter the following day. Tread had several sutures/staples and a drain in his side, and he has been resting comfortably while on 'bed rest' and medications. The drain was removed on September 9th, and the sutures/staples are scheduled to be removed on September 16th.

We are very thankful that Tread was able to receive the best care possible (and so quickly) after the trauma he endured.

Tread has a tan coat, a rather long body, and a cute Terrier face with hopeful trusting brown eyes, a tiny slender muzzle with a dusting of white, and large erect ears.

These photos were taken on September 7th and September 8th, 2024 while Tread was following doctor's orders and making the most of his 'rest and relaxation' regimen. Tread was very quiet and subdued (likely with a little help from his pain medications).

Fast forward to September 9th ... Tread is up walking around, wagging his tail, and putting his paws up on the gate of his 'apartment' (the closet just off the lobby/hallway) and is begging for attention. And he is now 'barking some orders' for us to follow for attention, treats, and bathroom breaks .. which is music to our ears!!

Tread is a petite boy who weighs 18 lbs.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Tread was held for three days to that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him. Nobody called or came looking for this little man .. But perhaps someone will recognize him in these pictures and know that he is safely in our shelter.

Updated: We've learned that this little boy's real name is Snoop.
