My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Cadet and I am a friendly male Vizsla mix, almost 2 years old, 39 lbs, and not to brag, but I’m exceptionally handsome, sporting a deep red coat, amber eyes, and I can rock a bandana like nobody's business! Unfortunately, my life didn't start as I had hoped. I was a stray dog, lost or dumped in an area on the outskirts of San Antonio Texas. Being a smart boy, I heard some people talking nearby and investigated. They looked friendly enough, so I jumped into the lady’s arms, and now she is my foster mom. Lucky break!

I am a happy boy who loves people young and old and gets along great with other dogs. I love to be active and enjoy playtime, running with my dog friends, and going for walks and runs with my humans, and I’m not embarrassed to admit I love playing with plushy dog toys, squeaky toys, and chew toys. I’m very affectionate, love hugs, sharing kisses, being petted and scratched, and spending quality time with my family. I only bark to alert, I’m well-behaved, kennel trained, and fully housebroken. I walk well on a leash, love going for car rides, and am looking forward to being someone's forever dog. I hear the Eastern Seaboard is the place to be, so inquire about me today and bring me home!

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
