For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
This helps Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society with pet care costs.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Snoop! This handsome energetic boy is ready to find his fur-ever home! He loves to bounce around and play with everyone that is around. His favourite thing in the world is he loves his stuffed squeaky toys! Snoop is hoping to find a family that will help him work on his manners as he still thinks he is a little puppy and has yet to learn what big boy manners are. If you are ready for a little excitement in your life Snoop is the dog for you.
~ Snoop is looking for an active home that will be able to bring him on lots of adventures ~ Snoop is looking for a single person, couple, or family of adults due to his energy and excitability ~ Snoop would do best in a house type home rather than an apartment as he does like to sing ~ He will need to be signed up for training prior to going into his fur-ever home to ensure he works on his manners
Explanation of Behaviours: - Snoop is a very high energy dog that will need plenty of daily exercise, training, attention, stimulation and enrichment to set him up for success. - He needs a lot of work on his overall manners and self-control including difficult behaviours such as jumping, mouthing and pushy interactions. - Snoop is under-socialized and will need proper positive socialization to the world around him at a pace he is comfortable with. - Snoop has shown to have some resource guarding behaviour specifically with toys. This should be worked on with a trainer to ensure he is comfortable with trading for other toys, disengaging from high intensity play and being able to settle.
This dog would benefit from: - Active home - Adult home or family with older teenaged children with large dog experience - No apartments - No other dogs, cats, small animals (only pet home) - Lots of training and socialization - Lots of time and attention
Training needs/behaviours that need to be worked with for this dog: - Basic Training - Basic Manners - Work on reactivity (specifically noted towards other dogs) - Work on prey drive
**For more information on any behaviours stated above, please check out our behaviour fact sheet: https://kwsphumane.ca/BehavioursandDefinitions
**Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
