Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Shanti couldn’t be any sweeter. She came to the shelter so skinny, with scars on her face and neck. We don’t know what caused them, but thankfully, she’s already looking and feeling much better. Shanti loves in the most polite and delicate way. When we got out a squeaker toy, she retreated, but then quickly forgave us and came right back in for more cuddles. She sort of knows how to sit, but we didn’t want to push her. Right now, we just want her to have a full belly and know she’s safe and loved.
Came in as a stray on 8/19/24.
Found near 5500 S. Union
Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL
Email visitcacc@cityofchicago.org for more information.
The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID.
All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs.
Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
