My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Emma, a 65 lb., 8 years young Chocolate Lab will carry you away with her love! When she was no longer useful as a breeding dog, a kind person took Emma into their home & then later surrendered her to the shelter so she could get the care & attention she deserves. At the shelter, Emma kept chewing a hot spot on her tail until finally her tail had to be amputated. Now she has a “nub” that twirls like a joyful propeller every time she greets someone! Emma is a spunky girl who loves to explore the outdoors & walks well on leash. Emma easily wins the “Miss Congeniality” award! At the shelter, everyone loves Emma & we’re all rooting for her to find a quiet, calm home, perhaps with a retired couple or a family with older kids, where she can spread her love & joy around & be cherished in return. We’re betting there’s someone who just can’t resist those soulful eyes, her goofy smile, her squishy, huggable head, & that little twirling tail-nub of joy! Emma is air tight house trained & current on vaccines. Emma will be spayed prior to being adopted. To schedule a snuggle with Emma, contact Tri-County Animal Rescue Center on Facebook, call 814-918-2032, or email: contactus@Tricounty-arc.org (kennel license #8704 )

Our dog adoption fee is $125 and we require either a spay/neuter deposit of $50 or a certificate for spay/neuter at our vet may be purchased for $100 (unless already spayed/neutered which would change the adoption fee) if the option of the $50 deposit is chosen, it will be returned after proof of the surgery.
Our cat adoption fee is $75 for kittens and $35 for adult cats. The cat adoption fee includes spay or neuter costs. All cats and dogs receive a wellness check and are current on all vaccinations appropriate for their age.

The adoption process includes filling out an adoption application and providing references. Any current pets in the household must be spayed or neutered (unless not recommended by a veterinarian for health reasons) and current on vaccinations. If adopting a cat/kitten you must agree to not have it declawed.
If living in a rental property, we must obtain permission from the landlord before an adoption can be approved. The dog or cat will be placed with the potential adopter that best matches the needs of the animal.
