Meet Bella! This 2 year-old, 40lb, Husky mix is a happy-go-lucky girl who is looking for her forever home! If you’re looking for an addition to your family who will blend in without missing a beat, look no further! Bella wants nothing more than to join your pack!
Since coming into rescue, Bella has done very well adjusting to her new routine. She is crate trained but much prefers free roaming the house once she’s acclimated. She does well when left home alone and has not yet been known to bark/howl or be destructive. She may be a candidate for shared walls if given the correct fit.
Bella thrives in an environment with other dogs. She loves playing and just generally having other dogs to be around. She’d love to be in a home that has other resident dogs and feels most comfortable when she has company. This, however, is not a requirement. She has not done well with cats and it’s not recommended she go to a home with one. Unfortunately, her prey drive does not allow for feline friends!
As far as kids go, she adores them and is very gentle when they’re around. We recommend slow and controlled interactions with any children in the home, but she is likely to do very well.
Due to Bella’s age and breed, she requires a medium to high activity level. It’s ideal that she has a consistent activity schedule that includes exercise outside of daily walks. A fenced yard will be ideal to meet her energy needs.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
