My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Oreo has looking adorable down to a science and if you look at him, you will see why. Oreo is adorable with his black eye markings that look so good, they must be fake, but they are not, they are pure Oreo. One of our volunteers petted Oreo for 30 minutes which is unusual for a rabbit. Oreo understands that petting feels good. He will let you know when it is enough or he is not interested. He has a chill, mellow demeanor which means he wants a quiet home without a lot of noise or action. He wants to be part of the family and not left alone often. Have you been thinking that a rabbit might make a good pet for your household? Do you want one that has dazzling good looks and is a lap bunny? If so, come to our shelter and ask to meet Oreo. We predict that the first thing you say will be "WOW" when you see adorable Oreo. Bring a carrier so you can take Oreo home and watch as Oreo wows everyone he meets. .

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
