Mackenzie is a 9.5 year old Boxer mix who needs a loving new home for her golden years. After spending her entire life with her mom and dad, Mackenzie is scared of the two busy toddlers that are now part of the family and has become uneasy around them. Her family is now expecting a third child, and after much consideration, they have decided to look for a safe and peaceful home for Mackenzie.
Mackenzie is a very sweet, calm dog around adults, is especially fond of women, and loves to be in the same room as her people. She enjoys napping, going for short walks, and being outside with company. Although she prefers to be close to her family, Mackenzie doesn't have separation anxiety, and she does fine when home alone.
On a typical day, Mackenzie's routine is to sleep in, go outside for a potty break, eat, and then lay in her bed for a while. Her family takes her out every 2-4 hours for short walks. As with many senior dogs, Mackenzie has arthritis and is not very active, but she still can be strong on a walk.
Mackenzie has lived with cats before and done well. Her reaction to other dogs varies, so she would do best in a home with no other dogs.
If you're looking for a gentle companion who appreciates a calm, adults-only environment, Mackenzie could be the perfect addition to your family.
