My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COLEXICIO - 5 years, 21lbs, Beagle, Neutered

This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org.

Level of dog ownership experience needed:
BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.

His Foster Says: "Colexico (We've been calling him Corio and he responds well to that name) is a very easy, sweet and loving dog. He is fully house trained and has had no accidents. He never barks is gentle and is very easy to be around.  We take him out first thing every morning and several times throughout the day. As long as he gets enough outdoor exercise, he is usually very relaxed in the house and sleeps on and off throughout the day.  He loves to sniff and is still working on his leash skills. He loves to play with his toys and he's very friendly and loves all people and other dogs. He's obsessed with cuddling and lying with us while we watch TV or work or hang out, and follows us everywhere we go within our apartment. He's very playful and funny, likes to hide under pillows and brings his toys to various locations in the house. He listens well to a stern "no" and is learning basic commands- almost there! Overall, Corio is an extremely well behaved, gentle, and loving dog."

How this dog ended up with Social Tees:
Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!

This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
