My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB July 9, 2018.

This sweet girl wasted no time in acclimatizing to her new environment when she was brought into her foster home. She waltzed out of her carrier and began exploring her new space. She is not a shy girl, preferring to be out and about to see what her humans are up to.
She spends most of her day in her cat bed or lying on the couch where she loves to have you join her, purring as you sit next to and pet her. She often likes to be near but not touching you on the couch. This makes it all the more special when she occasionally comes to sit on your lap or drape her paws over your legs. If you work from home, she enjoys spending an hour sitting on your lap while you work here and there. A few times per day she will also get a short-lived burst of energy where she will swat or pounce at her wand toy or a ribbon for a few minutes before settling down to lounge again.
She is a soft-spoken girl who will occasionally let out a single adorable meow, such as when you are preparing her dinner or when you return home from being out of the house. But you will never doubt that she loves your company, which she shows by purring, rubbing her face against corners and surfaces, or approaching you when she sees you.
Ella is not shy around new humans either, allowing them to pet her or pick her up. She is very food motivated and will love your friends even more if they give her some of her favourite Temptations chicken treats.
Ella will enjoy being picked up for a quick hug or hold where she will purr in your arms. She does not love to be held for a long period of time, but when she’s ready to be put down she lets you know politely by turning her body rather than biting or scratching.
Ella is a sweet, quiet, gentle, adorable girl who will make the perfect cat for someone who wants a friend to lounge with.
Note from Ella's foster family:
Ella can jump up onto our couch (about 2 feet off the ground) on her own and does so regularly without issue. But if she knows you’re nearby she likes to “take the elevator instead of the stairs” and sit in front of the couch to wait for you to lift her up. Similarly, she’s not a super athlete and might need a ramp or steps if you want her to be able to freely come and go from your bed at night.
During her stay in her foster home, Ella had some dental work done which gave her an endearing slightly-crooked smile (see photos).
Ella was found as a stray. She had a dental cleaning and tooth extraction done while living at her foster home but is completely healthy now. Her hair is still growing back on the left arm where she was shaved when she had her dental work done.
Ella is such a sweetheart and will surely bring a warmth to your home as she did to ours. Thank you for giving her a forever home and for loving her.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
