Hi there! I'm Rosemary! I'm a 1 year and 2 month old, spayed female, medium size, domestic short hair, brown tabby. I'm a gentle and sweet kitty, who can be a little shy at first, but I love pets all over and will rub my face on you in appreciation. Once I get to know you, I'll sit in your lap and give you snuggles. I'm hoping for a home that can spoil me and give me lots of love and attention. Since I am FELV positive, I will need to be indoors and the only cat in the household. Ask customer service for Rosemary ID# A950618 for more info about me!
This cat tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). She otherwise appears to be in good health. Although she tested positive on the first (ELISA) test, she tested negative on a confirmatory test (IFA). This means that she has eliminated the virus completely, is in the process of doing so, or has a 'regressive' infection. Cats with regressive infections have a healthy antibody response that fights the virus and keeps it at bay. The virus may reappear at some point due to stress, or the cat my live their entire life virus-free. These cats are not infective to other cats under normal circumstances, but can infect other cats if the virus re-emerges in times of stress. The disease is transmitted by actively infected cats that are in close contact with other cats, such as sharing food bowls, grooming each other, etc. If desired, the adopter may speak with a PHS veterinarian to learn more about this cat and FeLV.
Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays).
We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around!
