For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.

- Quiet in the crate overnight and keeps his crate clean
- Tiny adorable package
- Will alert you to intruders (even if they are people who live in your own home and he was snuggling a few minutes before)
- All bark and no bite (so far)
- Working on potty manners
- Needs slow intro to new people and other dogs, barks and chases people and dogs
- Possessive and obssesses over of his sister/girlfriend, Daisy whom he was surrendered with
- Best in a home with no kids or older, dog savy kids. Rowdy children will be barked at continuously!
Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees.
Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption.
We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and Saturdays 11am-3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process.
Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs and families, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 3 days.
Note: ODHS adopts within a 350 mile radius of Fredericksburg, Virginia. A $50 out of state fee applies.
