My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Serenity was thrown from a moving truck last week during the rain storm. Luckily, except for some scratches on her belly and a broken toenail, she appeared to have not suffered any serious injury. She slept on a neighbor's porch to stay out of the rain but was glad to be taken inside after the night she had. She is about knee high and weighs between 20 and 30 pounds. She has a microchip and first round of shots on 09-04-2024. Unlikely that she has had any other vetting. She is safe for now but needs a foster. She met the resident dog while I was there and there was no posturing or indication of discord between them. She submitted to being handled and had been fed and got a HW and Flea/Tick Prevention. Seemed perfectly content. Knows sit and maybe other commands but I didn't want to stress her out. She is not house broken. Age is unknown but she appears to have some adult teeth and guess she is somewhere between 6-8 months old.

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
