My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Whizzle and her family were found living outdoors as strays. They were scooped up into foster care and have transformed from wild to mild.

Whizzle is the shyest out of her litter and is her moms' little mini me. She tends to stick closely by her side and resembles her looks! Whizzle has a sweet and gentle nature. She adores being pet and will purr and request additional rubs. Whizzle spends the days playing with her siblings and mom. Whizzle would do well in a indoor-only home with another cat friend. She is young enough that she would do well with kids and dogs with slow introductions.

Whizzle is looking for a foster to adopt home in the Nanaimo region while she awaits her spay appointment. Apply to adopt today!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
