My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Guido! I am a handsome 6-8-year-old white boxer boy that was originally taken in as a stray, hung my leash for a bit at the rescue’s transition kennel, and now enjoying my time in a foster home! I am a mid-range energy boy. I like to play with soft toys and chase tennis balls but other times sun bath and lay around the house! I enjoy being with the humans, am house trained, crate trained, and leash trained! I will go to my crate for naps during the day, when the resident dogs are getting too rowdy, or when I am scared. I will go to the backdoor when I need the humans to let me out, even though there is a doggy door that I haven’t mastered yet but am curious about. When on leash, I do get curious about the bunnies and other wildlife. I am able to be left out of the kennel and have not been destructive but because of my height and recent food insecurities, I will counter surf and help myself to whatever food is on the counter. I am very gentle and good with kids! At the rescue’s adoption days I laid down when a toddler approached me. I live with a 7-year-old human kid and I watch him, but do not take food from him or jump on him and allow him to approach me to give and receive love! I currently live with 3 boxers (ages 1-8 years) and a 13-year-old lab. Slow introductions are recommended and even though I am respectful of the resident dogs’ space, I do get spooked when dogs approach me from behind. With proper introductions I will play and fit in just fine! Although the little fur sisters annoy me, I am very tolerant of them too! I have not lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
