Meet Pesto!
Extremely affectionate, she thrives on being around people and loves being pet, picked up, and cuddled. She's always eager to curl up in a warm lap and soak up the love.

Playful and friendly with other cats, Pesto fills her days with fun. She delights in her favorite toys, like balls and climbing posts, and enjoys chasing her feline friends around. Whether she's playing or seeking pets from anyone nearby, Pesto's happiness is evident in her never-ending purring.

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

All of our animals are in foster homes. To meet an animal please fill out our adoption application and we will get back to you to schedule a meet and greet if it seems it could be a good fit.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
