Here's what the humans have to say about me:
No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting this very sweet guy, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Email your fill out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. All vetting must be done before he finds a new home.
Meet Jax renamed to Jackson, a 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel. He was surrendered to a NC Shelter with the owners saying he snapped at their kids when they wouldn't share their food with him. The shelter was overcrowded so he came to us. He has just been groomed.
This very handsome, friendly, overgrown boy is just a BIG boned Cocker Spaniel. He weighs 43 pounds. He is heartworm negative and neutered. He is scheduled for a dental. He seems drawn to both men and women. He is a happy affectionate guy most of the time, but he does have some anxiety issues possibly because his owner moved a lot while he was younger, and he was never properly socialized. He does not do well with other dogs at all. He barks at dogs and motorcycles or any kind of loud noises when he is with you in your car. To keep him safe when riding in your vehicle, we suggest that he is securely tied in and tethered to the back seat. He is strong on a leash and would not be a good companion for an elderly owner. He needs a kind, caring owner who will spend quality time working with him. An adult only home is best, we have learned this by having him here at the rescue. He needs to be your only dog. A fenced yard is a must, and you will need to find a kind, very patient groomer as he does not do well with being groomed.
Adoption fee $400
Available after all vetting needs are done.

More about this rescue
My husband and I have been involved in rescue for many years. We started our own cocker rescue back in 2001. Our hope is to continue the work we love in helping as many homeless and shelter cockers find happy new forever homes.
