My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Have you heard of puppy love? Well, his name is Moon. He is a four month old 35 pound yellow lab mix that was surrendered to Mesquite Animal Shelter on 9/12. The kennel card stated that the previous owners had too many dogs. I understand that they had a dog that had a litter. Four of the dogs were adopted out and then the two that weren't were brought to the shelter. Moon was one of them. The other one has since been adopted. The surrender form said that he was an outside dog only. He's hoping that he will be adopted by someone that will cherish him and want to share their home with him. Considering he was a backyard dog, he walked relatively well on a leash. He galloped back-and-forth in the yard when he first got out. You could tell he was really enjoying the sunshine. Then after he ran off his energy, he decided to hide behind the bench. This is when I discovered he was timid. He may not have had a lot of socialization. After I spent more time giving him TLC, he warmed up to me, put his head on my lap and gave me kisses. He deserves to know what loving care is. He is sweet, playful, alert, happy, and has a positive attitude. He's hoping a family will come in, look into his soft, brown eyes and his sweet face and commit to love him. He wagged his tail meeting other dogs in the bay and saw another dog outside the gate and obviously wanted to play with the dog.
