My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young dog. Coco is the kind of pup who once comfortable in her environment snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her head on your shoulder breathing her warm breath. She's so sweet (while being initially a bit shy) and so very loving and irresistible that you can't help falling head over heels in love.

This is the case unless a dog like Coco is in a high-kill shelter scheduled for euthanasia due to lack of space or is wandering scary urban streets lost and alone.

It wasn't many days later that Farfel's Rescue received a plea to save the life of Coco, an 11 month old, 11 lb Cairn Terrier / Yorkshire pup that is nothing but pure love! We responded almost immediately that we'd be more than happy to accept precious Coco into Farfel's Rescue.

Coco's Texas rescuer had the following to brag about sweet Coco: This adorable girl was calm and quiet in her kennel. I approached Coco and she smiled, wagged her tail and was very easy to leash. She walked down the shelter hall and outside as quiet as can be. We met a couple of dogs but Coco didn't seem particularly interested. She did give each a polite sniff and moved on. Once outside in the yard, Coco romped and played. This little girl is just a sweet and wonderful ball of positive energy and pure love!

Coco is also absolutely stunning... one of the prettiest dogs I've ever seen in a shelter! She's clearly super-smart and very alert! Coco would do really well with having a job such as agility, scent training or frisbee to keep her brain occupied. She would love the activity and fun with her special person!

Coco is a dark-eyed beauty that is not only gorgeous but as sweet as can be.This pup is also a perfect size and weight to accompany her family just about everywhere a smaller-sized and well-behaved dog is welcome. Coco will fit right in due to her sweetness and great temperament. She is already starting to understand that kind and cooperative behavior makes great things happen in life. Our dream for this cuddly pup is a forever Colorado home with an active, dog-crazy family that cherishes her for life.

As Coco becomes comfortable in her forever home, she will blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more she will shine with her accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see Coco in a home that includes her in family time and activities (and some couch-time with belly rubs would be perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a very smart and cooperative pup like Coco the skills to accompany their family out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area.

Coco will be a loving and devoted companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a silly, active and fun-loving pup. Coco would also enjoy another gentle dog to play with.. She's so fun to watch as she puts her positive energy into enjoying the day with her foster or a furry friend. This engaging girl would also do well with a younger family that works from a home-based office. She would bask in the attention and cuddles periodically throughout the day that this life-style brings.

Coco is up to date on her vetting and vaccinations to stay true to Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to fulfill our commitment to ending the tragic canine overpopulation challenge.

Coco is arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 9/13/2024. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this sweet, cuddly and fun-loving best friend, please fill out our application completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Coco, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
