He is a very smart energetic puppy that is treat motivated and loves to learn. He came to ALI because of a broken right back leg. The fracture of his right Femur was not corrected with surgery, but rather splinted. Due to the severity of the fracture and its placement while healing, the "bridge" that formed to heal the bone has displaced the femoral head in the hip socket. He will need to be closely monitored for developing hip dysplasia or arthritis. Keeping him a lean weight will help ease the pressure on his hips. Recommendation to keep him on a high quality joint supplement lifelong.
