My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ever met a dog named JURY? Let me introduce myself, name is JURY! You may have met Judge, either my brother or a 'running the streets pal'. I'm a 10 month old male, tall, lean and handsome black and white mutt. Although really shy when I got here, my amazing shelter friends made sure I got lots of love and attention and long walks helping me gain confidence. I those walks and quiet time with my friends.
Jury, a name that evokes images of stately courtrooms and weighty decisions...... in this case "ADOPT JURY"! To learn more about me call the shelter OR better yet, come meet me! Just ask for Jury, I'm the only one . Who knows - perhaps I have a hidden talent for dispensing sage wisdom, just like my judicial namesake!

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
